Want vs Don’t Want

There’s always a tendency to focus on what you “Don’t Want”, rather than what you “Want”. Why do I say that ?

Most people want to be slim, happy, rich, in a good job, healthy etc. However, what they send out to the Universe is somehow on the contrary. They keep having thoughts such as

  • I don’t want to be fat
  • I don’t want to be sad
  • I don’t want to be poor
  • I don’t want to be fired from a job
  • I don’t want to be sick

The intent is to want the positives, but they seem to be focusing on the negatives instead. When they focus on what they don’t want, it will bring on to you the effect of negativity.

Here are a few examples of how to change the negative energy of “don’t want” to the positive energy of “want” -

Think: I want to be slim.                  Not: I don’t want to be fat.
Think: I want to be happy.               Not: I don’t want to be sad.
Think: I want to be financially rich. Not: I don’t want to be poor.
Think: I want to have a good job.    Not: I don’t want to be fired from a job.
Think: I want to be healthy.             Not: I don’t want to be sick.

Start practicing focusing on the “wants”, rather than the “don’t want”.

If it’s of any help of all, you should keep a journal of all the negative thoughts you have each day and find a way to “rethink” them. I’m quite sure it’ll take some getting used to. If you consistently work at it, you’ll find that it becomes a habit and you will definitely start attracting positivity into your life.

I’m sure you definitely WANT it!

Cheers,
Dan

Positive Energy - Smile

Did you see the previous post I had on Develop the Feelgood Feeling?

If you didn’t, check it out here.

Hugh Newman, the gentleman who loves seeing people smile, brings out the most beautiful smiles in people, he is indeed someone who is sincere. He sees the beauty in people. He focuses on the positives. These simply manifests and it “infects” people. So, the natural instincts of people receiving those positive feedback is to return it with a smile, a feelgood feeling develops and it inevitably will create a positive “infectious” chain. The positive energy will just get “transferred”" to the very next person they come in contact with.

Isn’t this simply beautiful?

It’s been said that “The world always looks brighter from behind a smile.” How true, isn’t it?
When you’re happy and don’t have the baggage of anger with you, you view the world in a different light.

I recently met a young lady who was full of positive energy. She was always full of smiles and speaks with much enthusiasm, energy and positivity. She naturally became the centre of attraction. Literally! Everyone wants to be around her. The conversations in the room were similar to what she was chatting away. How amazing! It just feels like it’s an attraction of bees to honey or nectar.

Charles Reade said that Beauty is power; a smile is its sword.”

I can truly attest to that, especially with that energetic lady I met. Don’t you want to have such a person around you all the time? Well, if you don’t have such a person around you, how about working towards being that person?

Here’s to positive energy!

Dan

Develop the FeelGood Factor

There are definitely many things one can do or indulge with, to allow you to develop the feelgood factor. Let me share that happy thoughts, smile and even laughter is a good place to start off.

Look for activities or happy thoughts that can bring smiles or laughter. Did you know that smiling and laughing increases the body’s endorphins and help reduce your stress hormones?

It’s been said that having a positive outlook, having increased endorphins can even help heal our body. So, I highly recommend that you start smiling more, read humorous books, tune in to comedy shows or even hang out with friends who have good sense of humour.

Here’s a video clip which I believe will bring a smile to your face. Enjoy!

Happy Thoughts Always,

Dan

Build Confidence

Many a times, the journey we often travel in, we do face obstacles and challenges. This inevitably will cause us to doubt our capability, question our self-worth, erode our confidence or even sabotage our own success. We must NEVER, EVER allow it to happen to us. Even if it did, SNAP OUT OF IT!

Learn to erase failures… it’s said that confident people all share one simple mental strategy - concentrate only on SUCCESS but let memories of failure fade away.

Learn to develop an image of yourself as someone who succeeds… even if you have to overcome challenges. Stretch yourself a little at a time. By then, you are always building your sense of inner competence and achievement.

The body language that exudes a confident person is

  1. Full Eye Contact
  2. Open Expression
  3. Relaxed Posture
  4. Level Shoulders

Things to do as your build your confidence or get help to build your confidence. They are

  • Identify the most confident person you know and ask them how they remember successes and forget failures.
  • Always practise CONFIDENT body language.
  • Review your own ACHIEVEMENT daily and regularly. This is a constant reminder of how well you’ve done and performed.

Take action now!

Motivation! Riding High?

Are you still riding high on your Motivation?

Have you often heard people say, “Take baby steps”? Well, that’s precisely what you should be doing… you can keep yourself motivated by setting yourself small milestones. Reward yourself whenever you achieve those small milestones, little successes along the way.

If it’s a task which you’ll be repeating, keep a progress log. This is how it can help you track your progress and allow you to still reward yourself… one-step-at-a-time.

Let me leave you with an inspiring note. A friend shared with me this extract from the book ”Bragg Healthy Lifestyle”…

Take Time for 12 Things
1.  Take time to WORK - it is the price of SUCCESS.
2.  Take time to THINK - it is the source of POWER.
3.  Take time to PLAY - it is the secret of YOUTH.
4.  Take time to READ - it is the foundation of KNOWLEDGE.
5.  Take time to WORSHIP - it is the highway of REVERENCE and washes the dust of earth from our eyes.
6.  Take time to HELP & ENJOY FRIENDS - it is the source of HAPPINESS.
7.  Take time to LOVE & SHARE - it is the one SACRAMENT OF LIFE.
8.  Take time to DREAM - it hitches the SOUL TO THE STARS.
9.  Take time to LAUGH - it is the singing that help LIFE’S LOADS.
10. Take time for BEAUTY - it is everywhere in NATURE.
11. Take time for HEALTH - it is the true WEALTH & TREASURE OF LIFE.
12. Take time to PLAN - it is the SECRET of being able to have time for the first 11 THINGS.
Take action now!

Is Your New Year’s Resolution Still On Track?

We’re into the last week of February for the year 2009! Is your New Year’s resolution still on track ?

Statistics have shown that 80% of the people who pen down their New Year’s resolution don’t keep their commitments and most don’t even make it through the end of January or even February. I sincerely hope you’re not part of the 80%. However, if you are, don’t “beat” yourself too hard

It’s universally known that “making resolutions is easy - sticking to them takes a whole lot more than willpower”. As long as you know that you need to get back on track… ask yourself what were the very reasons you had when those resolutions were made? Are you in control or are you allowing circumstances, weakness or even excuses control you?

Let’s review what’s needed :

1. Set goals that are specific and measurable

It’s known that once you set a goal in life, the brain will respond with a burst of happiness and the pending results.

2. Set yourself a timeline for your goals

Give yourself a time line for completion. A time line creates the sense of urgency and purpose.

3. Have a strategy and action plan (including managing obstacles)

Have an action plan & strategy. Don’t set yourself up to fail. Be realistic with your outcome and be ready for the potential of obstacles and challenges.

Take heart! You’re not alone in this journey. If you’re looking to someone to be accountable to, you can always drop me a comment.

Take action now!
Dan

Decide To Be Rich

Every human being who reaches the age of understanding of the purpose of money, wishes for it.

Wishing will not bring riches.

But desiring riches with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire riches, and backing those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure, will bring riches.

The method by which DESIRE for riches can be transmuted into its financial equivalent, consists of six definite, practical steps, viz:

1. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say “I want plenty of money.” Be definite as to the amount. (There is a psychological reason for definiteness which will
be described in a subsequent chapter).

2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as “something for nothing”.)

3. Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.

4. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.

5. Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan
through which you intend to accumulate it.

6. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ - SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY.

It is important that you follow the instructions described in these six steps. It is especially important that you observe, and follow the instructions in the sixth paragraph.

You may complain that it is impossible for you to “see yourself in possession of money” before you actually have it.

Here is where a BURNING DESIRE will come to your aid.

If you truly DESIRE money so keenly that your desire is an obsession, you will have no difficulty in convincing yourself that you will acquire it.

The object is to want money, and to become so determined to have it that you CONVINCE yourself you will have it.

Only those who become “money conscious” ever accumulate great riches.

“Money consciousness” means that the mind has become so thoroughly saturated with the DESIRE for money, that one can see one’s self already in possession of it.

To the uninitiated, who has not been schooled in the working principles of the human mind, these instructions may appear impractical.

It may be helpful, to all who fail to recognize the soundness of the six steps, to know that the information they convey, was received from Andrew Carnegie, who began as an ordinary laborer in the steel mills, but managed, despite his humble beginning, to make these principles yield him a fortune of considerably more than one hundred million
dollars.

It may be of further help to know that the six steps here recommended were carefully scrutinized by the late Thomas A. Edison, who placed his stamp of approval upon them as being, not only the
steps essential for the accumulation of money, but necessary for the attainment of any definite goal.

The steps call for no “hard labor.”

They call for no sacrifice.

They do not require one to become ridiculous, or credulous.

To apply them calls for no great amount of education.

But the successful application of these six steps does call for sufficient imagination to enable one to see, and to understand, that accumulation of money cannot be left to chance, good fortune, and luck.

One must realize that all who have accumulated great fortunes, first did a certain amount of dreaming, hoping, wishing, DESIRING, and PLANNING before they acquired money.

If you do not see great riches in your imagination, you will never see them in your bank balance.

It’s time to make your invisible wealth visible…and let’s discover together the secrets of the rich.

Cheers, Dan
