Take Baby Steps …
One of my favourite quotes by Confucius said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.
I remembered my friend commenting that “it will take time before any results can be achieved”, when he was listing out goals he wanted to achieve that some goals are long term goals, will take a few months before it can reach fruition or needed help along the way. That is where the above quote by Confucius was most apt.
Take baby steps…
Whatever goals you have, no matter how difficult, regardless the timeline, can be made easier by breaking them down into smaller, more achievable goals. They will be tackled one at a time, finally accomplishing the ultimate goal. Completing these smaller goals is definitely one of the best ways to build confidence, momentum and a track record of constant action, especially when you are always updating your Goal Plan.
Do you remember how your child or seen a child learn to walk? Children learn to walk by taking one tiny baby step at a time. Do you remember seeing them stumbling? You see, learning to walk requires some hand-holding, a few painful or countless stumbles, and lots of encouragement. Before you know it, the child will be walking; then running, skipping and jumping. Soon, there will be no stopping her/him.
Success in whichever aspects of your life are built on those baby steps you take, be it financial, career, health, fitness, spiritual etc. Let’s start with a baby step. Do you know where you are going? Do have a clear vision of what you want to finally achieve? Visualization is one great place to start. What better tool to help you along with that is to create your very own Vision Board.
