Overwhelm on Goal Setting and Pursue One’s Dreams
After reading the posts at this site, a friend shared with me privately that she’s so inspired and motivated to get started to do what she’d wanted to do since the start of the year.
You see, she’d been kept busy for almost the entire year, but looking back, she felt she hasn’t achieved much professionally, financially, personally and spiritually. She was doing what was expected out of her job, meeting deadlines after deadlines. At the end of the day, all her energy just gets ‘zapped’ out of her that leaves her not wanting to do anything else but wait for the day to start all over again.
She was also in awe that there are so many things she wants to pen down for the rest of the year and the following year, for that matter. I could sense that if she gets overwhelmed, she will just slip back into not setting her goals, working towards some of her dreams. Do you feel that you get that feeling too?
I told her that what’s important is that she gets started with simple goals that allow her to make little changes along the way. If it’s a goal or dream she wants to pursue which might take a year or two to accomplish, break it down into smaller, more manageable baby steps.

Allow me to share an excerpt of what I read - “Decision Accurate analysis of over 25,000 men and women who had experienced failure, disclosed the fact that lack of decision was near the head of the list of the 30 major causes of failure. This is no mere statement of a theory - it is a fact. Procrastination, the opposite of decision, is a common enemy which practically every man must conquer.”
There you have it… procrastinate no further! Take the decision of starting to review what you’ve accomplished and set goals for the coming year! All for the benefit of pursuing your dreams!
Carpe Diem!
